DTF Artwork Requirements
Please read all artwork requirements carefully before placing your order. All files must be completely print-ready. Dash Art House does not resize, redesign, color-correct, remove backgrounds, or arrange individual images unless that service has been purchased separately.
Accepted Artwork
DTF transfers support:
- Full-color graphics
- Full-color photographs
- Designs for light or dark garments
- Cotton, polyester, and cotton/polyester blends
DTF transfers require no weeding or layering.
File Requirements
- Accepted formats: High-quality PNG or PDF
- Recommended resolution: 300 DPI or higher
- Maximum gang sheet width: 12 inches
- Background: Transparent
- Artwork dimensions must be exact
- All designs must be placed on one complete gang sheet
- Files must be uploaded at the exact size you want them printed
White backgrounds will print because DTF printers use white ink. Removing the white background from the screen does not necessarily mean the file is transparent. Please verify your file before uploading.
Screenshots, watermarked images, low-resolution files, and unauthorized trademarked or copyrighted designs will not be accepted.
Gang Sheet Sizing
Your gang sheet must be 12 inches wide and may be any available length offered at checkout.
If your artwork falls between two available lengths, select the next size up. For example, if your designs use 29 inches of space, purchase a 36-inch gang sheet.
Orders containing artwork that does not meet the size or file requirements may be canceled.
Color Notice
For the most accurate results, CMYK artwork is recommended when supported by the selected file format. RGB colors may shift or appear less vibrant when converted for printing.
Dash Art House does not provide color matching or verify colors before printing. Colors displayed on a phone, tablet, or computer monitor may not match the final printed transfer. Customers requiring specific colors should verify their Pantone or CMYK color values before submitting artwork.
White Underbase and Fine Details
DTF transfers use a white underbase beneath the printed colors. Extremely small or thin details may not receive a proper underbase and may fail to transfer correctly.
Avoid:
- Text or details smaller than 9 points
- Words measuring less than approximately 0.35 inches
- Extremely thin lines
- Tiny isolated details
For the best results, make thin lines and small details thicker or add an appropriate stroke.
Transparency and Gradients
Transparent and semi-transparent gradients are not recommended. Areas with approximately 30%–40% transparency may print with white ink underneath them, causing jagged edges, unwanted outlines, or a loss of the intended blending effect.
For better results, make gradients more solid, use halftones, or remove the transparency completely. Transparent effects may not print exactly as they appear on your screen.
Edge Quality
Before uploading, inspect your artwork at 100% zoom. Edges should be clean, sharp, and free from:
- White outlines or halos
- Pixelation
- Jagged edges
- Background remnants
- Unwanted or “dirty” colors
Poor edge quality is usually caused by a low-resolution image or an improperly removed background. A higher-resolution file or professionally vectorized artwork may be required.
Copyright and Trademark Policy
Customers are responsible for confirming that they own or have permission to reproduce all submitted artwork.
Unauthorized copyrighted or trademarked content—including NFL, NBA, Disney, fashion-brand, celebrity, and similar protected artwork—may be rejected. Dash Art House is not responsible for claims or legal consequences resulting from artwork submitted without proper authorization.
Returns and Exchanges
All DTF transfers are custom printed using the artwork provided by the customer. For this reason, returns, refunds, and exchanges are not available unless Dash Art House made a verified production error.
Please inspect your artwork, dimensions, colors, spelling, transparency, and gang sheet layout carefully before submitting your order.
Current Production Time
The current standard production time is approximately 24 hours after print-ready artwork and payment have been received. Production time does not include shipping or delivery time.
